Hi! I'm Megan. I'm a freelance graphic designer and illustrator trying to add a little more beauty to the world.
I have a bachelor's degree in Art and Art History from Colgate University, and completed a senior thesis in Printmaking. After school, I moved to Washington DC, where I worked briefly at a marketing agency before deciding to go to law school. After a year at William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, I ultimately realized I was more interested in the colonial interior decor than my casebooks, and returned to my artistic roots to try to make a go at it.
A year ago, I moved with my husband to a little town east of Vermont and west of New Hampshire so he could attend business school. I've loved getting to know the other business school students and their partners, and collaborating with them on all kinds of graphic design projects, including logos for new companies, a networking app, and the famed Dartmouth winter carnival poster.
I love incorporating calligraphy, pen and ink illustrations, and watercolor into my work, and prefer the texture and warmth of hand drawn and hand painted pieces. I find inspiration in the natural beauty and seasons of New England, vintage children's books, field guides and botanical illustrations, and old embroidery patterns.
I have a line of wedding invitations available at Charley Paper Company, and art and fabric designs for sale at Minted and PBTeen. I also work with several independent stationers around the country on custom illustration projects, and my illustrated maps are sold in shops in San Francisco and Austin.
